About Me
I grew up in Troy, Michigan and graduated from Troy Athens High School in 2002. I went on to attend Michigan State University and graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Elementary Education in 2006. After completing my student teaching at Webster Elementary in Hazel Park, MI, I accepted a job at Medlock Bridge Elementary in Johns Creek, Georgia. Once my teaching career began, I decided to further my education and went on to complete my Master of Arts degree in Teaching and Curriculum in 2010. During the seven years I was at Medlock Bridge Elementary, I taught fourth grade for two years, third grade for three years, and second grade for two years. In the summer of 2014 I moved back home to be closer to family, and secured a job teaching kindergarten at Hoover Elementary in Hazel Park, MI. I am currently teaching third grade at Hoover and I love it!
Ever since I was in the third grade at Troy Union Elementary, I have wanted to be a teacher. My third grade teacher, Mrs. Spencley, inspired me to follow my dreams and I sincerely hope to inspire my students to follow their dreams whatever they may be. In my class, I will strive to create a positive classroom community where I will work together with parents to reach each student’s personal goals.
